Reverend Joshua, J. Stampley-Gardner, is the oldest child of Rodney and Nicole Gardner. Joshua was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He has two siblings, biologically but has many whom he considers brothers and sisters.
Joshua’s life is guided by the words of the Prophet Jeremiah ” “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Joshua always Possessing a deep desire to better himself to serve God’s people, Joshua is a 2015 graduate of Rust College in Holly Springs, MS with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a 2019 Graduate of Turner Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA. Joshua is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Joshua is currently pursuing a Master of Theology at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology; his work is entitled “A Theology of Activism: Seeing the World through the Eyes of God.” Joshua’s motto is, “If I can help just one person as I travel along, then my living will not be in vain.”
As a child, he always had a passion for serving God and God’s people, still exhibiting a strong commitment to learning the word of God. Joshua was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church on May 17, 2019. Joshua is a member of St. Philip Africa Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. William D. Watley.
Joshua currently serves as the Virtual Pastor we Saint Philip African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Joshua met the love of his life, Miss Breonta’ Raquel Mitchell, they are engaged to be married in October 2021.
